Tug of War Dice is one of those easy, fast, everyone-wants-a-rematch style games that works with kids, teens and adults. All you need is one die per player and a small marker or token. It’s the perfect mix of luck, suspense, and lighthearted competition that always gets people laughing.

What You Need
- 2 six-sided dice
- A small marker (game piece, coin, Lego, anything)
- A flat surface
- A lined sheet to play on. 7-9 is a good number of spaces (you can make your own or use our free printable)
How to Play Tug of War Dice
Place your marker on the center starting space of your board.
Two players sit across from each other, each with their die. At the same time, both players will roll their die as quickly as they can. Whenever someone rolls a 6, they pull the marker one space closer to their side, just like a mini, dice-powered game of tug of war
Whoever pulls the marker across their edge wins.
How to Play with Four Players
You can create a 7×7 grid to play with four players. The game plays the same, except now the marker can be pulled in either of the four directions. It’s like having two 2 player games going on at once, but everyone is racing against each other to win.
Tug of War Dice is fun for rainy days, classrooms, and quick game breaks!
