Games to Play While Watching Football (Free Printables)

Football games are more fun when everyone has a reason to pay attention. If youโ€™ve ever hosted a Super Bowl party or watched a game with kids or non-fans, you know how quickly interest can fade once the novelty wears off.

These simple games turn watching football into a game itself. Played alongside the action on screen, they keep everyone engaged from kickoff to the final whistle and work just as well for the Super Bowl, college football, or any NFL game.

Game 1: Party Picks

Party Picks is the easiest addition to any football game. Simply print one sheet out for every player and have them select their choices from a variety of “this or that” picks. Circle your answers then watch the game for the results. If what you predicted happens, mark it off on the right.

At the end of the game, the player with the most checks wins. In the event of a tie, the player whose combined final score prediction is closest wins!

If you’re hosting a watch party, it’s great to have a stack of these printed off and ready when your guests arrive. You can place them next to the following game so everyone can fill them out at the same time!

Game 2: Super Bowl Squares

One of our favorite games to play where players can win prizes or money during the game based on the scores at quarter.

For this game, youโ€™ll need a 10ร—10 grid of squares. You can make this quickly by hand, or use our free printable template.

On the top of the grid, youโ€™ll write the name of one of the teams. And on the left side of the grid youโ€™ll write the other team.

Before the game begins, divide the squares among your players. Players will take turns choosing squares to write their names inside. Each of the 100 squares will have a name written in it and will determine the winner of each quarter by matching the last digit of each teamโ€™s score. (Sometimes you cannot divide 100 between your party evenly. When this happens we get as close as we can and then give the extra squares out to the youngest players.)

Then randomly assign the numbers 0-9 to each column and row. These will be how you determine your winners! I use a pair of dice and add their results to the columns and rows but you can write the numbers 0-9 on strips of paper and pull them out randomly from a bowl or hat.

Determining Your Winners Each Quarter

At the end of each quarter, youโ€™ll determine a winner by looking at the current score of the game. Matching the last digit for each teamsโ€™ score with that same digit on the grid, the winner is the player whose name is in the square where those two numbers meet.

Example: at the end of the first quarter, the score is Team A: 14, to Team B: 7, youโ€™ll look at the 4 column for Team A, and the 7 row for Team B and find the name in the square where those numbers match. That’s your winner!

Super Bowl Bingo

This one’s straight forward and will require no explanation! We’ve created over 20 unique Bingo cards filled with a variety of fun things to watch for during the game AND commercials. You can print them all out and have guests select one to use. Print them out on a whole page or two per sheet to save paper.

This is great for kids and helps keep everyone’s interest on the whole game.

Pro Tip: pull this one out to play after half-time. It’s the perfect mood boost when interests start to drift and get’s everyone locked back in for a fun second half.
