The Best Seek and Find Board Games for Kids

After over 14 years of parenting one thing Iโ€™ve found to be true of literally all of my children is that they go bananas for a seek-and-find. Like theyโ€™ve never met one they didnโ€™t like. Hidden Picture books? Gold. Spot the difference pictures? Theyโ€™ll take ten. Scavenger Hunts? Say less.

So naturally over the years weโ€™ve discovered some board games that have that same vibe! During the past two years in fact the game industry has seen a bit of a surge in seek and find games for kids (and adults!) and Iโ€™m here for it!

If your kids are like ours, these seek and find board games are going to be fast favorites!

The Best Seek and Find Board Games for Kids

you can shop this post and many more of our favorite game recommendations on our Amazon storefront!

Spot It

A classic! I firmly believe every kid should have at least one copy of Spot it! Each card has one match with every other card in the game. There are multiple ways to play the game, and in each one, youโ€™re trying to spot these matches quickly. Itโ€™s also so fun to have different sets and themes for Spot It. Our kids play almost daily and with a different set each time. Theyโ€™re fun to collect!

MicroMacro Kids Crazy City Park

Solve kid-friendly mysteries in this seek and find detective game. This is based off the adult game MicroMacro and features only 100% kid friendly crimes and mysteries to solve. Itโ€™s perfect to play cooperative or solo. It earned our Top Choice seal which you can read all about here.

Lost in the Woods

This is a new favorite that I think is just so clever. Players will need to practice communicating with each other. One player is โ€œlost in the woodsโ€ and needs to describe where they are so that everyone else can locate them on the large seek-and-find game map before time runs out. During the game extra limitations or challenges can be placed on your ability to communicate that makes the game a little more challenging and often silly.

Search Party

Prepare to be amazed when you open the game board to this one and an entire amusement park pops off the page. Literally! Search Party is another kid friendly mystery seek and find game with 14 cases to work through on the huge pop-up game board. Thereโ€™s something happening from every angle! When youโ€™ve solved the cases, thereโ€™s a giant seek and find list of challenges, too!ย

Spotlight

I love a game that can be played either cooperatively or competitively! Spotlight is an adorable seek and find game where you are all looking for specific things that appear multiple times on your player board. To see them, youโ€™ll need to use your magic flashlights which allow you to see the scene below! Itโ€™s a fun โ€œmagicโ€ effect that kids just love!ย

Eye Found It the Board Game

This game has a 6 food long game board filled with a feast for the eyes and plenty to seek and find during the game. Itโ€™s great for playing on the floor (or at the very least, a very long table) and is one of my favorites for letting multiple kids play together. Itโ€™s also not uncommon to see some of my kids playing this on their own as well! It comes in a few different themes as well! Each plays the same, so choose the theme that will excite your family the most!

Like the Disney or Marvel one!

Eye Found It the card game

This takes the fun of the larger board game and reimagines as a card game. Again this is another great option for both solo and competitive play. My kids love to bring this on road trips and itโ€™s perfect to play at restaurants. There are multiple themes as well so you can find one thatโ€™s a great fit for your kids.ย

Unlock! Kids

These kid friendly escape room adventures are a favorite! Not only are they a fun challenge that has kids thinking logically through various puzzles, but many of the challenges involve seek-and-find elements. It will test their observation and problem solving skills!ย There are multiple versions to choose from and each comes with three unique stories that each have 2 different adventures.

Highlights Hidden Picture Books

While not a board game exactly, a list on seek and finds written by someone whose childhood was defined by these magazines wouldn’t be complete without them. Highlights magazines were, are, and forever will be one of the best activities for kids. I love getting their seek and find activity books for my kids. They’re a must for travel and cozy days at home.
