Disney Dixit Review

About Disney Dixit

Disney Dixit is a family party game for 3-6 players featuring art from Disney movies. This is a standalone game, having the original Dixit is not required for play. If you are familiar with the original Dixit, the gameplay is the same.

On your turn, if you are the storyteller, you will pick one card from your hand to be the secret card. Next you will give a single clue pointing in the direction of your secret card. Then players will select a card from their hand, all will be shuffled together and turned over. Everyone will then try to guess which card belongs to the storyteller. The storyteller earns points if at least one player correctly guesses their card. However, if everyone guesses their card, they earn no points, requiring storytellers to be clever, but not obvious with their clue. All other players earn points if their card is selected instead of the storyteller’s or if they correctly guess the storyteller’s card.

The game ends when a player reaches 30 points.

Our Thoughts on the Game

I really enjoyed Disney Dixit! It was very fun to give clever clues while trying to decipher other people’s clues. Additionally, as a fun little side quest, we all had a great time looking at the cards to guess the movie it was based off of. I love how they interpreted the disney movies in different ways. Each card has art that feels true to the original film, while having the whimsical art style Dixit is known for.

These Dixit cards are my favorite out of all the packs we have. They can also be used with the original Dixit cards or used in the Dixit game Stella as well!

Can a younger audience play? Of course! My little brother who is six played and followed right along. He really enjoyed playing with the whole family. It was easy to play together on teams with kids younger than six as well.

Disney Dixit is Great for Families

All in all it’s a great game for families with kids aged six and up. Dixit is a fun game that I enjoy every time we play and it’s now even more fun with these Disney cards.
