Carrooka Review: A Beautiful, Space Saving Twist on Pool and Snooker
So we got a pool table…for our wall!

Okay, not exactly, but ever since we got our Crokinole board we’ve been obsessed not only with the game but also how fun it is having it displayed on our wall. When we discoverd Carrooka, we knew we had to bring one home to add to our walls!
What is Carrooka
The Carrooka board is a round board with a built in lazy Susan upon which you can play versions of pool and snooker. The board has six pocket holes to shoot the discs into which is way harder than it looks and every bit as fun as you think it’ll be!
At $260, these boards are a more luxury gaming product, but still well under the cost of a high quality pool table. And they’re well worth that price; in fact, after seeing the board in person first hand, I couldn’t believe how fairly priced it was!
These boards are handmade in Staffordshire by the makers of Carrooka, the lovely and so kind Jack and George! The quality of this board is fantastic! Beautiful, sturdy birch wood, a smooth finish, and screen printed game lines! This baby feels like an heirloom, having that wonderful quality of being expertly made with care. This isn’t a flimsy board quickly thrown together. This is expert craftsmanship. And I just love knowing that it was made with care by the maker!

But how is the game?
Carrooka is made for playing pool and snooker and the experience has been incredibly fun! Seriously, we’re hooked! RIP my fingernails.
After years of playing Crokinole, I was surprised at how much more skill it felt like it took to play on the Carrooka board! Getting the discs into the pockets without scratching requires a fair amount of geometry and finesse. But that just makes every sunk shot that much sweeter!
To say we have a blast while playing on the Carrooka board would be an understatement. Any game played instantly turns into an event, cheering spectators and all!
Our kids especially love playing pool on the board! Much like how we found Crokinole to be a wonderful alternative to a bulky pub style game like Shuffleboard, Carrooka is similarly perfect! I much prefer having this to a large pool table. And dare I say, it’s more fun too!
It took a little bit of time to get used to the Snooker rules, but now that we’ve got them down, it may be my favorite way to play! This feels like the perfect blend of skill, luck, and strategy as you try to sink shots and call the right discs to rack up points. For the dexterity fans, you won’t find a better game! You’ll likely find yourself practicing shots so you’re able to refine your skills for the next game — and luckily enough, it’s just as fun to practice as it is to go head to head in a game!

Well Designed for Play and Display
The whole game experience is improved by the ingenious integration of the lazy Susan base. It glides effortlessly around so you can line yourself up to take the best shot without having to stand and walk all around the table.
A must get when ordering a Carrooka board is the wall bracket. This is a simple, yet well-designed bracket that allows you to store your board on the wall like art. It’s so easy to install! The lazy Susan slides into the pocket on the bracket and hangs securely. A much preferred way to store it rather than tucked away in some corner and it doubles as art making the cost even more agreeable.

Carrooka is a stand out dexterity game!
A Carrooka board is a wonderful game for families and a fantastic piece of craftsmanship well worth the price. We highly recommend it and are pleased to give it our Top Choice seal!
Carrooka is a great, space saving alternative that brings the fun of the pub to your home without the need to dedicate a huge space to house it. I love being able to play two different styles of game on the board and that each require a fun bit of skills practice to become proficient. But even if you just want to flick the discs hard and hope for the best (like 50% of my shots!) it’s still a ton of fun!
Carrooka is quickly gaining popularity, to see if it’s available in your area, check their official website!
A special thank you to Jack and George for sending us a Carrooka board for review. As always, our thoughts and opinions are our own.
