I was charmed from our first play of Patchwork years ago. There’s something about it’s slightly chaotic quilt patterns and satisfyingly tricky puzzle. And as a two player game, it’s a great choice for date nights. 

Patchwork is a great game for players who love easy to learn yet difficult to master games. It challenges you to purchase polyomino tiles to fill in your player board to make the most aesthetic quilt. Players have to generate their own income by purchasing tiles that give them buttons which act as your currency in the game. 

The beauty of Patchwork is that it is simple to learn yet players quickly find that executing their strategies is anything but simple!

One of our favorite ways to spend time together is by playing a great board game for date night! With 6 kids, you can imagine that finding a sitter and getting out of the house isn’t always an easy task. But that doesn’t mean that date nights have to take a back seat.

We strongly believe in making time to spend together as a couple. Sometimes that looks like going out to dinner and a movie, sometimes it’s a Netflix binge of a new favorite show, and other times it looks like picking up a new game to play together.

It’s my belief that a parent can never have too many quick activities to do with their kids. I’m always on the hunt for games that have fast play times for the days that either my to-do list is too long, bed time too close, or attention spans are too short.

Four is an exciting year for children developmentally. Testing their boundaries and learning to follow instructions, engaging in pretend play, and talking up a storm, the four year old child is busy!
