15+ New Board Games at Target Fall 2025

Target’s game aisle just keeps getting better, and this season is no exception. From family favorites to clever new strategy titles, I’ve round up the best, fresh releases that you’ll want to grab on your next Target run and a few that you may want to pass on.

Ticket to Ride new edition

This game got a fresh new updated look but the main game remains the same. In addition to the updated art, the new version has full size train cards (hooray!) more destination tickets, and a few rules tweaks to make the game more enjoyable and balanced.

We have this and are pleased with the updates!

Quacks new edition

Quacks is the new version of the classic The Quacks of Quedlinburg game. A family classic where you’ll push your luck to draw ingredients out of your bag to add to your cauldron. If you push your luck too far, your cauldron may explode!

Parks new edition

The new edition of Parks has arrived! This game features many changes in design and rules from the original game to make it a more streamlined experience for players.

Ziggurat

Probably the game I’m most excited to see on the shelves right now! This is a fantastic family legacy game that you can play with players as young as 6. You play through a 6 chapter story filled with fun surprises to unlock. After you complete your campaign you can continue to play the game again and again.

A great addition for families with both young and older kids!

Exit: Catan

We love a good Exit game. These games play like an at-home escape room. Each game has unique puzzles, riddles, and challenges you’ll need to solve before you can advance on. They’re great solo or played cooperatively. This one is set in the world of Catan and we hope it is a sign of many more Exit games to be found on Target’s shelves.

Mermaid Tide

An adorable game for your youngest players beginning around age 3. You’ll work together to collect shells and complete the puzzle before the tide comes in. It’s a good option for your toddlers and preschoolers.

Horrified: Dungeons and Dragons

The newest installment in the Horrified cooperative game series is set in the world of Dungeons and Dragons with their iconic monsters. This is one of our favorite “spooky season” board game series to play every October and we already have this one on our shelves ready and waiting!

Disney Villainous Unstoppable

This is one I’m on the fence on. Villainous the game hasn’t been one we’ve loved in any of its iterations. Yet, I still absolutely love the idea of a solid board game themed around Disney Villains.

This seems like an easier version of Villainous — you’re still taking on the role of a villain trying to achieve your evil plan, but the game is wholly new in design and is separate from the original Villainous games. Definitely one we’ll want to check out.

Flip 7

This black jack style card game is a hit at parties. Perfect filler game to play with young and old alike!

Codenames

The new, revised version of Codenames is now available. It has new art, a revised word list, and an box insert to make playing even easier.

Duck and Cover

One of our family’s favorite games of the past year! Beautifully simply, quick to teach and play. This will be the perfect gift to grab when you’re shopping for birthdays!

Harmonies

For us, this game was a skip. Despite it’s popularity, we found the game to be lackluster. In it you’ll draft terrain tokens to place on your board to build habitats for animals. It’s an overdone theme delivered in a fine but ultimately uninspiring way. Harmonies isn’t bad, it just isn’t memorable.

Rhymes with Duck

Players will think of rhyming words and try to match words with other players around the table. It’s from the same designer of Blank Slate which is one of our favorite party games.

Despite the title’s suggestive framing, the game itself is intended to be family friendly.

Slip it In

This packages up the game Word Sneak made famous on the Tonight Show. Players each have cards with a phrase they need to “Slip in” to conversation.

While you can absolutely DIY your own version of this game, if you want something already made for you this is a fun option to play in non-traditional ways like at theme parks, road trips, or during dinner parties without needing to sit around a table.

Kites

A cooperative game where you’ll work together to flip multiple sand timers to keep them from running out of time.

It’s harder than it looks and has a fast paced nature to it which makes it better suited to older kids around age 10+ and adults.

Exploding Kittens: The Board Game

I’m very intrigued by how the board flips and am excited to see if it works well during game play. Regardless of the outcome, I know that my pre-teen boys are going to love this one.

Mantis

Very excited to see this back on the shelves with new art and a smaller, more travel friendly box size! Mantis is a fun, quick card game for families that is just pure fun.
