There are tons of great games kids can play on their own. Whether you are looking for a solo logic challenge they can work through or a board game they can play without adult supervision. These games are great for helping kids build confidence by allowing them to work through challenges on their own and for when mom and dad need a break.
1. Catan Logic Puzzle
I love that the game is built into the storage case so you can play and store everything easily. There are 40 logic puzzles that progressively get more challenging — great for quiet time and road trips.
2. Ticket to Ride Logic Puzzle
Similar to the Catan Logic Puzzle, the the Ticket to Ride Logic puzzle has 40 challenge cards. Everything stores in the drawers underneath the play surface making it perfect for travel.
3. Free Fall
I love that Free Fall combines the fun of a marble run, a logic puzzle, and a skill challenge. Kids are given the location of only a few components and must work to discover how to attached the remaining pieces so the ball can make it into the target cup.
4. Tumble Maze
Tumble Maze is all about trying to get marbles to roll into a specific spot. This is a great trial and error challenge for kids to work through and has been an MVP of quiet times in our house over the years.
5. Flash 8
I love both the multiplayer game of Flash 8 and the solo game! This is a great board game that kids can play together without supervision or on their own with the solo version.
6. Kids Chronicles
If your kids have been wanting to try their hand at solving mysteries but you want it in a family friendly theme free of any gore or dark storylines, Kids Chronicles is a great choice. This is great for players ages 7-8 and up. Once they understood how to play, our kids were able to complete the tasks on their own with little to no adult help.
7. Space Invaders
Play cooperative or solo in this fun, retro arcade style game. This is one of our favorite family games just because it’s pure fun. It’s great for kids ages 8+ and one they can easily play condifidently on their own.
8. Honeycombs
We love this tile matching game! It’s simple enough kids can play together without an adult but also works great for when the whole family wants to join in on the fun.
9. Ice Hoppers
Ice Hoppers is a fun cooperative game that kids can play together or on their own. You’ll push icebergs and help penguins jump from on them all the way to the other side of the board.
10. Maze Racers
This is one of our boys’ favorites! They’ll each build a maze for the other to run a marble through. When both mazes are complete, they swap and start to race. The first to get their marble in the target area wins. This gets me 20-30 minutes of uninterrupted time easy!
