Rolling Realms is a game that was once created purely online. Back in 2020 we mentioned in this post how you could join in and play along with creator Jamey Stegmaier as he created this game for everyone to enjoy together virtually. Rolling Realms was an interesting game to play because you got to watch it grow from the very earliest stages of design. It went through several changes, tweaks, and revisions and now we are excited to review the physical version of Rolling Realms!
Over the last month, I have received countless requests from educators all over the country asking for recommendations of games they can play in the classroom that follow their new covid regulations.
First off: I have to say just how grateful I am for the phenomenal educators out there completely kicking butt during this time. Whether you’re in a large school, small school, or new to homeschool — school looks a lot different this year than it ever has before and that change has been….stressful, to say the least.
But I’m excited to hopefully help give you some fun and innovative ways to bring games and game-schooling into the classroom this year!
With a little ingenuity, we can do this!
Plus! I’ve got a special discount code to help you bring some of these games into your school or homeschool!
If there are two things our kids love its games and coloring. Walk into our house and the odds are you’ll have a pretty good chance at seeing crayons strewn on the table and a game on the counter (and probably socks, shoes, and other child paraphernalia because it’s impossible to keep my house clean.)
If your kids are like mine, then you’ll want to know a bit more about Color It from HABA which combines both of those loves into a simple game that is fun for kids ages 4 and up!
We’re always up for trying a new game, but an entirely new type of game? Oh yeah, we’re down for that!
Sonora is a brand new take on the roll and write genre that meshes a classic roll and write with the dexterity game of Crokinole to create the first ever Flick-and-Write!
Hey there! Thanks for being here! We’re Adam and Kelsey and we, along with our seven kids, love to play board games! Here you’ll find all our top game recommendations so you and your family can play only the best games together!
