Snail Sprint. If there’s a more apt way to describe our life right now I’m not aware of it. With a brand new baby added to our clan, we feel like we are rushing everywhere, trying to do all the things, but getting no where fast. 

While we’ve been enjoying a lot of extra time at home cuddling our baby and falling behind on laundry (is it ever possible to get caught up?) we’ve also been having a lot of fun playing games with our four big kids and Snail Sprint has been on repeat for our boys. 

Board games are a great way to encourage critical thinking, problem solving, and cooperation with kids.

In HABA’s new game Luxantis, players will work together to devise a plan to vanquish shadow creatures that are advancing towards the castle. Navigating through a labyrinth to find magical items, they will need to decide how best to divide and conquer the board in order to win. Throughout the game they will have to reevaluate and adjust their plan as each turn can bring about unexpected changes to the game board. 

The only way to win is together, so they’ll have to stay sharp and help each other all along the way if they hope to vanquish the shadow creatures and win the game.

The saber-toothed tiger clan is on the search for a new leader! 

Players must prove themselves wise and resourceful by collecting the most supplies, attracting mammoths, bartering successfully with other clans, and paying homage to the old nature gods in order to be elected clan leader! Not only must you do this, but you must do it all while not forgetting to take care of the powerful, saber-toothed tiger Honga! Take care of him and he remains happy, neglect him and he will eat up all your supplies.

Gaming with kids is always a bit of an adventure.

Four dragon children have stumbled upon an unusual sparkling treasure: a column of ice with beautiful stones frozen inside it. Unfortunately the column is too heavy for the children to carry back to their cave so they enlist the help of their father. Through fire breathing, the column starts to melt and little by little the sparkling stones fall out and the children race to collect the treasures, whisking them back to their cave.
