If there was a category of board games called “Games You Could Frame,” Bees: The secret Kingdom would be in it. 

This is a game buzzing with beautiful art and a welcoming nature that we have been enjoying playing as a family these chilly winter afternoons and think you might too! Beekeeper suit not required!

Detective Club is a new party game that somehow manages to do what I previously thought was impossible. It is a bluffing game perfect for players who love to lie and spin tall tales, and ALSO for players who struggle with deception and coming up with stories on the fly. 

If you hear the phrase “social deduction” and your heart fills with dread, fear not! This is such an inviting game for performers and wallflowers alike and is sure to have your group laughing at all of the silly and surprisingly perfect explanations you create for your cards.

This past month we’ve recently been using these three games from Gamely in each of these settings and they have been a great way to get everyone laughing, mingling, and having a fun time. Games used as icebreakers are a great alternative to the typical “meet and greet” variety too often found in the workplace or youth groups.

It’s no secret that I’m a fan of card games! So when I was asked if I wanted to review the upcoming game Cover Your Kingdom.

Cover Your Kingdoms is from Grandpa Beck’s Games! The makers of Skull King, The Bears and the Bees, and Cover Your Assets! So I knew it had to be good.
