Party Games for Large Groups
If you need a party game for a really big group, try one of these party games! Great for 10 or MORE players!
Be sure to scroll to the bottom of the post for our tips on hosting a large group for game night!
Up to 10 players
1. Hues and Cues
This game is one of our favorites. A player will give one and two word clues while everyone tries to place their pawn on the color square they think best represents the color they’re referring to. It’s all about how you perceive color.
2. Fake Artist Goes to New York
Everyone is trying to draw the same picture, except for one person who has no idea what that picture is supposed to be. They have to try to blend in while trying to figure out what the drawing is of, while everyone else tries to figure out who the fake artist is.
3. Werewords
One of my favorite word games! You are trying to guess the secret word by asking yes or no questions before the time is up. If you do, you win. But it’s not that simple, someone is working against you — they know the word and will try to confuse you without you figuring out who they are.
Simple, fast, fun, and addictive!
4. Linkto Food or Travel
Trivia with a fun twist. In this cooperative trivia game, you’ll try to link 49 clue cards to the 50 word cards. If you’re correct, the final unlinked word card should match the code with the answer card. If it does, you won!
5. Saboteur
This simple card game is always fun! You are trying to find the path to the gold by laying path cards down, however, among you is the saboteur who is trying to stop your progress and keep you from winning.
6. Snake Oil
One of our favorite games for those who love to perform! Snake Oil is hilarious fun. Everyone will pitch a product to the group, turning into the mostly wily of salesmen to sell ridiculous products to even crazier customers.
This game is great for kids working on their public speaking skills too!
7. The Resistance or The Resistance: Avalon
A game of social deduction and deception. These games are great for groups who love to work out either who the bad guys are or foil the good guys to win. They play quickly and are easy to learn.

8. Monikers
Monikers is one of those games guaranteed to make you laugh. You try to get your team to guess the name on the card. In the first round you can say anything, the second round only one word, and in the third round you must act it out. It’s hilarious fun and great for big groups!
9. Linkee
Perfect for when you have a small or big crowd (or even are on a road trip!) In link you’ll answer questions on a card and then try to figure out the clue that links all the answers together. It’s simple fun you can enjoy anywhere!
10. Wavelength
Wavelength is fun for the whole family. You’re trying to guess a target location on a spectrum with only a single clue given by your teammate. The closer you get to the target the more points you earn. It’s fun, surprisingly thoughtful, and one of those games you’ll find yourself playing just because you’re having a great time — who cares about points?!
11. Deception Murder in Hong Kong
One of the best murder deduction games. Everyone plays as a detective, except for one detective who is secretly the murderer. One player knows who they are and is trying to give clues so the group can zero in on the villain. This game is a must for any fan of social deduction or deception.
12. 0 to 100
I love this trivia game perfect for people who don’t like trivia games! Everyone has cards that feature random trivia questions all with a numerical answer. You’ll play the cards in front of you who’s answer you think is the closest to the current target number. You don’t need to know the correct answer, you just need to get close. It’s a fun pocket sized game that can handle a lot of players!
13. Telestrations (12 player party box)
A party game classic! Telestrations is like telephone and Pictionary had a baby. It’s fun for adults and kids alike!
Currently, the 8 player game is less than half the cost of the 12 player game, so if you buy two of these, you’ll be able to play up to 16 and save money!
14. Concept
If you are looking for a slightly quieter party game that will still bring some laughs, Concept is one for you! You communicate without speaking and must place pawns by icons on the board to get your team to guess the word or phrase on the card.
If you’re playing with a younger crowd, we love Concept Kids Animals!
15. Green Team Wins
To win this game, you’ve got to get on the Green team. Everyone is asked the same questions and writes down their responses. The winning answers join the green team and score points, wrong answers are kicked off the green team. However, it’s not the “correct” answers that win, it’s the most popular, so you’ll have to think about what everyone you’re playing with is going to write down. Simple, clever, and fun!

Tips for Hosting a Large Group
Hosting a big game night?
While all of our tips in this post work for groups of any size, there are a few tips we have for large group game nights, or even large families like ours!
Run Multiple Tables
There’s no rule that says you have to pick a game that everyone can play together. In fact sometimes it might be more fun to have multiple tables with different games so your guests can choose what they want to play.
When we do this we try to have at least one of us play the part of Host and not join in a game. That way we’re available to answer any questions our guests may have. You can switch off throughout the night.
We still like to select games that are light on rules, quick to play and fun to watch for our guests who might prefer to sit on the side spectating.
Set everything up before your guests arrive for an even smoother evening. (We also do this for our family game nights as well!)
Large White Boards
These are great for any group drawing games and make it easier for everyone to see what’s happening.
You can also use it as a score tracker throughout the night! It’s so fun when hosting a team style game night (boys vs girls, etc) to add to the overall fun, competitive nature of the evening.
Share the Rules in Advance
Many games have quick YouTube overviews of the rules. If there is a particular game you’re excited to play with the group, sending a link to a short video about it can help make the rules teach a little easier on game night.
Modify the Rules
To help keep the game moving at a good pace, we will often modify the rules so that it works better for a larger group.
In games like Snake oil where everyone is supposed to put together a 30 second pitch for the group, we will instead have 3 pitch at a time while the group debates the winner.
Small changes like this are perfect for those more performative games.
