One of our favorite style of games to play as a family are flip and writes. These games are similar to roll and writes — games where you roll a set of dice and mark things off your player sheet. 

Flip and writes are a similar concept except instead of dice you’ll use cards. Flipping over a card gives players a new option to write down on their player sheet. In many ways, Flip and Writes remove some of the more random elements that come from the dice in roll and writes but are still just as fun if not quite as unpredictable. 

Any of these seven games are excellent options to play with family or friends and ones we reach for again and again! 

Wooden board games are some of my favorite types of games to play. There is just something about the feel of the wooden components and the often organic and artistic nature of the game design. One of our favorite ways to spend time together is by playing a great board game for date night! With 6 kids, you can imagine that finding a sitter and getting out of the house isn’t always an easy task. But that doesn’t mean that date nights have to take a back seat.

We strongly believe in making time to spend together as a couple. Sometimes that looks like going out to dinner and a movie, sometimes it’s a Netflix binge of a new favorite show, and other times it looks like picking up a new game to play together.

It’s my belief that a parent can never have too many quick activities to do with their kids. I’m always on the hunt for games that have fast play times for the days that either my to-do list is too long, bed time too close, or attention spans are too short.
