Best Board Games like Jenga

We’re sharing our picks for the best board games like Jenga!

Playing Jenga is an essential part of childhood. The way the sound of the blocks crashing down never failed to make you flinch and rattle the nerves. And luckily for todays generation, there’s not only the indoor jenga option, but also the giant outdoor option perfect for building giant towers and increasing the thrill with the ever present threat of an ER visit should it bury someone on the way down.

Dexterity games like Jenga are a great way to get family members involved who are perhaps more reluctant to play a typical board game. They are less intimidating from a strategy view point and generally require less of a time commitment. But even Jenga has it’s limits.

We love these games for tapping into that Jenga vibe while bringing new elements and ways to play to keep game night fresh and fun while challenging our dexterity skills.

The Best Board Games like Jenga.

Fuzzies

Jenga, but make it cuter! You try to stack felt ball “fuzzies” by removing them from the tower and placing them anywhere higher. It’s especially nice when the tower falls down and you don’t have the ear drum rattling thunder of the wooden blocks but rather the soft flutter of felt.

Rhino Hero

This award winning game takes building card towers to the next level — literally! Take turns playing your cards and adding a new level to the house of cards by following the placement instructions. Adding Rhino Hero to some levels makes for an even greater challenge! Stores in a small box for ease!

Rhino Hero Super Battle

A SUPER sequel to Rhino Hero. Bigger cards, more super heroes, and spider monkeys! If you love the idea of building a really large and expansive house of cards, this is the game to get. The card design is larger and players are able to make a sturdier structure that leads to some very fun builds — before it all comes crashing down of course.

Animal Upon Animal

I’ll never not love this cute stacking game. We’ve played it everywhere. At home, on the floor, by the pool, at the pub. A collection essential in my opinion!

Catch the Moon

This game has a really whimsical quality about it. It’s challenging without being impossible. Great for kids and families — you can play either competitively or cooperatively.

NMBR 9

While not a dexterity game per say, NMBR9 taps into that spatial puzzle that dexterity games do so well. You layer number tiles on top of each other — the higher you can place them, the more points you’ll earn. It’s a great option for solo or group play.

Suspend

I love how engaging this game is! Work on hand eye coordination and spatial reasoning. It’s as great as a game as it is a free play toy.

Junk Art

Who knew making art out of junk could be so fun! This is as much a physics challenge as it is a spatial puzzle. Junk Art is an excellent game with high variability. There are over 10 game modes to try that each make the game feel a little different. Great for kids and adults.

TEAM3

This is such a fun game perfect for both parties and team building. Three players must work together to build a structure. One player has a card that shows a depiction of what the tower must look like. They cannot speak and must mime the tower’s structure to a second player. This player must then verbally relay the message to the third player who is blindfolded and is constructing the tower. It’s a communication challenge!

There is both a green and a pink version. Both games play the same but come with different blue print cards and a mini expansion. If you have both versions you can play up to 12 players.

Tinderblox

Perfect for travel! Tinderblox will test your fine motor skills! Build a campfire by adding pieces to the logs one by one in specific combinations. Easy to put in your pocket on your way to the campsite.

Katamino Family

I love this version of Katamino! It provides you with multiple ways to play from the standard game, to a two player race, and dexterity building challenges! It’s a must have for solo and family play.
