15 Board Games to Play This Spring
We’re sharing 15 of our favorite board games to play for Spring. Spring themed games are some of my favorites, be it the flowers or the adorable critters, there’s just something about them that makes me happy.

1. Gartenbau
This tile placement, pattern building game is absolutely stunning on the table. I absolutely love the art. You’ll play as a gardener trying to grow a mature garden full of flowers before the growing season ends.
2. Wingspan
Let the chorus of birds welcome Spring both outdoors and on your table. Wingspan is a wonderful engine building game where you’ll draft birds to build powerful combinations. This is a great, easy to learn option if you are looking for a way to ease into more difficult strategy games.
3. Meadow
The watercolor illustrations on the cards in this game are truly something to behold. This is a lovely nature game where you’ll draft cards from the central board, play them into your meadow, and achieve goals to earn the most points.
4. Planted
One of my favorite games from last year! Planted is a drafting game all about filling your home with beautiful houseplants. The game comes standard with deluxe components, is easy to learn and teach, and plays incredibly smoothly.
5. Azul Queen’s Garden
The most challenging Azul in the series, Queen’s garden is also one of the most beautiful. You’ll draft tiles to arrange in your garden by satisfying placement conditions and restrictions. Queen’s Garden is a challenging pattern creating puzzle.

6. Cascadia
In Cascadia you’ll build out your terrain area and populate it with wildlife. This is a great, entry weight game that is full of all the drafting, tile laying, puzzly goodness.
7. Verdant
Another game for all houseplant enthusiasts! Verdant is a puzzly game where you’ll try to position your plants in the rooms with the most suitable light conditions for their growth. The better you do this, the happier your plants will be. And while you’re doing that, you’ll also be decorating each room — all to create the coziest space.
8. The Bears and the Bees
Yes, even after years of playing this game, the title still trips me up thinking its about something else. But fear NOT! The Bears and the Bees is a family friendly pattern building game where you’re working to eliminate your hand of the hexagon cards by playing them into the ever growing hive by matching colored sides.
9. Everdell
Everdell is one of those games you just want to live inside. The world is so adorable, brought to life with beautiful art. Everdell has a variety of mechanisms to enjoy such as worker placement, tableau building, drafting, and more! This is another great option for players looking to try more challenging game experiences without being too overwhelmed.
10. Floriferous
One of my favorite quick card games. Floriferous is a simple drafting and set collection game all about collecting flowers from your garden. The art on each card is absolutely stunning.
11. Fluttering Souls
If you are wanting a game designed for just two player that’s great for travel, Fluttering Souls is a great choice. This is a lovely set collection game where you’ll collect sets of butterflies to earn victory points.
12. Ohanami
Ohanami is a must for fans of simple yet tricky card games. You’ll draft cards to play into your rows of ascending or descending cards. The art is lovely and it’s easy to teach and share with new players.
13. Maui
Excited for a little Spring Break vacation? Perhaps your heading to the beach and looking for a game to get you excited. Maui is an easy to learn family game where you’ll place towels in patterns on the beach. Placing towels in the more prime locations earns you more points!
14. Parks
Get your hiking boots ready for all the parks you’ll be visiting this year with Parks! Hike across the different trails of the US National Parks, collect memories, generate resources, and use your gear wisely to win! Technically this game involves all four seasons of the year but I’m a fair weather park visiter, so Spring it is!
15. Miyabi
Perhaps a trip to a zen garden is what you’re after. I love the puzzly nature of this game as you carefully plan your garden, stacking tiles up on multiple levels to earn the most points! It also comes with some expansions to challenge you even further! Miyabi is one of the more underrated family games from HABA!
